This one guy on twitter, @Moldvay Redeemed, talks about The Lost City module a lot. A LOT.

We have been bouncing ideas around for a couple of years now.

Today I had some downtime at the, ah, place of employment. So I started jotting down some notes.

This is really off-the-cuff stuff, it will get more organized!

I decided the language of the people of the underground city would sound a bit like Spanish.

Cynidicea (kai-nee-dee-THAY-ah) is the Temple-City of the Zargonnen cult. At the top of the social pyramid is the Priest Class:

  • Fanatical

  • Obsessed with cleanliness

  • Administration of the Temple-City

  • Military forces and leadership

Next on the hierarchy is the Aristocracy:

  • Corrupt nobility

  • Hedonistic

  • Drug-addicted

  • Violent toward the Underclasses

  • Strict Caste-system

Below them (Far below!) are the Hereditary Underclasses,

  • Craftsmen & Trades - skilled workers

  • Warriors/Miners - Effectively slaves, highly socially-conditioned castes

  • Scourmen (name??) - Prisoners or those punished for treason/violent crimes are punished by cleaning all of the stone buildings, by hand, every day.

I also drafted two custom character classes

I am definitely thinking of basing the character classes on Oriental Adventures, but, this is a brainstorming project right now, so we shall see!

I made a short video to go over some of the preliminary work:

I look forward to questions or comments.
